Acting Labor Secretary Attends North Carolina Trade Events

Joins apprenticeship establishment ceremony and tours Climate Corps center.

Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su traveled to North Carolina this week to attend two local workforce events.

In Charlotte, Acting Secretary Su celebrated the announcement of the Charlotte Regional Apprenticeship Collaboration, which connects building trades with community-based organizations to tap people into reliable training programs. In Cherokee, Su toured the Oconaluftee Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center, where she “swore in” new members of the American Climate Corps.

“Through President Biden and Vice President Harris’s Investing in America agenda, we have made significant progress in delivering good jobs and economic security to communities across the country,” said Acting Secretary Su. “Here in North Carolina, that means $10.3 billion of investments in safe roads and bridges, clean air and water, and renewable energy. With today’s announcement – and through partnerships of those in this room – we are going to make sure that every single cent of that $10.3 billion supports good-paying North Carolina jobs.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Acting Secretary Su to be led by the Lord as she oversees the Labor Department.
  • For U.S. officials as they promote training programs and events for apprenticeships.
